The prints are positive impressions taken from plates, which are made from compressed card that is cut to create linear marks, and layers peeled back to create the variety of tonal areas. The plates are then varnished and printed using the intaglio method, where ink is rubbed into the grooves and wiped off the surface, after which it is run through a press with the dampened paper. The embossed metal prints employ the same method without ink.
The front is an abstract image produced in response to the record - a collage of planes & elements which exist in contrast & in conjunction with each other.
The back is an abstracted image of the church at the centre of Brüsseler Platz in Köln.
The front and back b&w prints are each in an edition of 30, while each of the coloured metallic prints (front / back in gold, silver and pink) are in an edition of 20.
The prints are signed and numbered and all purchases include a digital download of Brüsseler Platz by Dominik von Senger.
